DON'T YOU GET IT? The whole point of the song is to say WAKE UP YA'LL! "it's about time" we GET OVER the fact that people are different in color, race, gender, size, etc. and VOTE for the best person to do a job! which we did-hence the CELEBRATION of a MOVEMENT IN CONSCIOUSNESS developing into a more OPEN AWARENESS as a species. When aliens study humans someday, they'll be amazed that we fight so madly about our differences because we are so blind to realize just how much MORE we have in common.

u don't know me. U don't know if i'm black or if I voted for him. Although he was the better candidate. the point I was making is if you feel so strongly about black people voting for a black man then you shouldn't make comments like the one u did. It's irrelevant at this point. I have as many expectations for him as i did for GWB in December 2000. A lot of people voted for GWB because he's a christian. there's nothing 'politically incorrect' about voting. It's purely up to the individual.

Oh, and to touch on the "political correctness" thing once more. Common sense dictates, in todays politically correct (screwed up) America, it's politically incorrect not to vote for a black man (or in this case, the man claiming to be black). But hey, you may be one of the few who saw beyond the color of his skin and was gullible and dumb enough to believe his promises of change. Well, hope your expectations aren't too high. Haha...

Of course you do why would common sense meam something to you.
ItsFineWithMe (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The man only claimed to be black to get the black vote, and also the pity vote. It's pathetic, really. But, all you said means nothing, as I know I'm right.

Wow! First of all, if you knew anything about 'political correctness' you wold know that the term 'mulatto' is archaic and offensive. Multiracial or Multcultural background is more appropo. the man identifies as a black man so that's what he is. Frankly, however his background he just validated the very creed the US is built on and invalidated stupid, unnecessary arguments like the one you were trying to start by posting that comment.Leave that divisive stuff alone. Read a book sometime.

Your statement is completely irrelevant. If America wishes to be politically correct, then I will be. Works against ya sometimes, doesn't it? Deal with it...

Many African Americans have at least one ancestor that is white. He identifies as black.
